Christian Taillefer, a top-level professional cross-country mountain biker, then downhill mountain biker (DH), has been constantly innovating for years, building his first cross-country and downhill bikes himself, as well as the bikes for his mile-throwing snow speed records.
Christian Taillefer is :
– 6 French XC and DH Champion titles,
– European DH champion in 1992,
– Bronze medal at the 1993 DH World Championships,
– Winner of the DH World Cup at Les Gets in 98,
but also several world records for mountain bike speed on snow, with a personal best recorded at 212.139 km/h in 1998.
In 1999, Christian Taillefer put an end to his sporting career to devote himself entirely to bike development, including the very first downhill bikes with double-T forks, produced under his own “Taillefer Bicycles” brand. He was contacted by the Cycleurope group to prepare the bike ranges of prestigious brands such as Peugeot, Définitive, Gitane, Bianchi, for almost ten years…
Many of his friends and mountain bike hire companies knew of his background and innovative skills, and asked him to come up with an alternative to the downhill bike. A product with a wide range of uses (summer and winter, on all types of terrain), lower cost, no size, no transmission and, above all, minimum maintenance.
In 2008, the first TROTRX™ scooters germinated in the mind of Christian Taillefer. The TROTRX™ DH scooter was born.
Christophe Mayaud, the modern, forward-thinking man, takes part in the project by financing the first series of TROTRX scooters.
He was the driving force behind the development of the electric, single-engine and 2-wheel drive versions. Even though he’s no longer with the company, he’s always willing to give advice on product development.
Since then, the range of scooters has evolved and grown every year.
Ever more reliable products, at the forefront of development, for use by everyone and in every circumstance.
TROTRX continues its development with the arrival of an all-terrain version equipped with a 750W single-motor or 2-wheel-drive, single-trigger motor, which can be fitted with 20″ or 24″ x 4.0 FAT tires, increasing comfort, power and torque.
TROTRX also offers specially adapted vehicles for municipal police, forest rangers, gamekeepers, etc….
After more than 10 years of developing leisure scooters, TROTRX™ is taking a new turn by offering the “useful” scooter. A more ecological and responsible version is born.
Thanks to a new, reinforced luggage rack that can be integrated into the scooter, you can fit a top-case, box, suitcase… Your choice, depending on your use.
Year after year, and thanks to feedback “in the field” from rental companies and users, we evolve our TROTRX™ for greater efficiency, comfort, and always maximum pleasure…
TROTRX™ unveils its new 2×2 scooter with integrated battery, opening in parallel its own 48v 25Ah battery mold, composed of latest-generation LG cells.
At the same time, we have also developed a new BMS (Battery Management System) to power one or two-wheel drive.
It is always possible to combine the integrated battery with the backpack battery to considerably increase autonomy.
The frame has also evolved: slightly longer, with a widened shoe at the rear to increase the scooter’s stability, support and comfort.
The development of the new removable rear dropouts is a real evolution, you can remove the rear wheel from your TROTRX™ easily with a 6mm Allen key. What’s more, on reassembly, the wheel centers itself automatically.
The new TROTRX™ frame is even more versatile: it can now be fitted with 20” or 24” wheels, a choice of battery (integrated in the frame or in a backpack), and even a combination of the 2 to considerably increase range.
But we knew this would only be a first step, as we could only offer it in 48v 14.5Ah and single-motor versions.
The first two-wheel-drive TROTRX™ models hit the market!
More torque, more power and therefore inevitably more fun. But that’s not all: TROTRX™ two-wheel-drive bikes allow riders weighing over 100kg to go up and down hills, and to ride in all circumstances.
TROTRX™ markets its first electric, single-motor versions. A real turning point for users, they no longer need to take lifts or vehicles to get to the heights.
TROTRX™ thus ushers in a new era, that of using scoots in all circumstances, for all levels and practices.
Always striving for innovation and performance, TROTRX™ is changing its look with the development of a new frame in a full-suspension version, much more comfort, safety and pleasure of use.
The first marketed versions of TROTRX™ scooters were aluminum downhill scoots equipped with quality components derived from cycling, and lacked rear suspension.
Among the many advantages for rental companies, one that stood out was the fact that there was just one size for all; no transmission, no saddles to adjust and therefore a product aimed at a wider clientele; ranging from the family rider to the experienced rider.
